Many people ask me how to get started as a Virtual Assistant. They key is to get your name out there with your skills! Some of the first things I tell them are these:
1. Make yourself a LinkedIn profile at www.linkedin.com. Fill your profile out completely. Join the VA groups as wel as other groups you have interest in. COMMENT on others posts. Subscribe to newsletters if offered.
2. Search blogs and websites for Virtual Assistant information. Comment and follow those blogs.
3.Make yourself a blog!!!! Blogs are a very interactive way to engage in talk with people and let them know who you are. Potential clients will look at these blogs for reference to see who you are. If you Facebook and Twitter accounts, clean them up. Social networks show the you , that you want to show.
4. Go to www.virtualassistants.com and www.elance.com to look, bid, apply for, and put up your ad!!!
